Places for having fun
When a child complains, “there’s nothing to do!” there is a lot of options you can choose from.
The Costa del Sol has some great theme parks and clubs. One of the latest ones is a year-round ice skating rink on the new boulevard in San Pedro de Alcántara. There’s also a 9-hole mini golf course beside it. Funny Beach near Marbella has go-karts and more, plus there are gigantic water parks at Torremolinos and Mijas.
There are two zoos and a unique wolf park, dolphin safaris and a donkey sanctuary where youngsters can learn about the animals and have a ride. If you have horse-loving kids, then there are plenty of equestrian centres and livery stables if you own horses or ponies.

When it’s raining
Occasionally it rains and then the beach is not a fun option. There are more places now providing indoor entertainment such as Funky Forest in Estepona, and there are a few cinemas showing kids films in English. A bowling alley is another option and kids cookery classes is another – Urban Chai in San Pedro offers these.
Costa Jump is the new trampoline experience that many kids and parents are excited about; it is also in San Pedro. Or you can take them to Mayan Monkey in Mijas Pueblo where they can learn to make chocolate. They will like it for sure!
Businesses and the local government on the Costa del Sol have been actively developing activities for young people so that the area is great to grow up in.
Schools and Clubs
Education is also a big concern for parents who are thinking of moving to Costa del Sol and we’re pleased to be able to say that there is a great selection of international schools that send students to the world’s top universities. Parents may also choose to send kids to Spanish state or private schools and immerse them in the language; this is great for the really young children.
Because the Costa del Sol has so much sunshine there is no excuse for kids to be stuck indoors. There are many after school clubs providing tennis, gymnastics, martial arts, musical theatre, cooking and junior golf.
